MDI was originally formed by a group of DCS engineers. We continue to expand our expertise and implement DCS systems for a variety of manufacturers (Emerson’s Delta V, Siemens PCS7, Novatech’s D3).

Sample project:
We completed a DCS-based batch project for a major biotechnology products company (capacity expansion for an injectable drug). MDI wrote and executed automation CTPs (Commissioning Test Plans), as well as Installation and Operational Verification for software and hardware components, including utilities.

For several automation subsystems, MDI executed phase logic testing against CTP and FRS. Our experienced personnel were also responsible for writing validation test procedures to challenge phase logic by performing dry runs in advance of executing validation protocols on the system.

The final phase of the project included carrying out punch list documentation, DDS (Detailed Design Specification) revision, and error correction under change control procedures.

MDI provided a leading pharmaceuticals company with interconnectivity using an MES between their plant floor and their System Application Program (SAP).

The MES implementation was integrated with the control computers in the facility by utilizing the MS SQL server database as an interface layer. Downward and upward flowing data were organized into database tables to facilitate MES operations.

Control Approach:

The traditional use for SCADA systems (and one of its primary uses) is to centralize control in a plant. The benefits of a centralized SCADA system include:
